Dev's Comments

"ACE Online is an action based Massive Multiplayer (MMP) 3D Space Shooter. In ACE Online, players can pilot their own fighter ships (also known as Gears), on a futuristic world where they can upgrade skills or the Gear itself. In ACE Online, gamers have full control over the Gear’s movement, making it very different from the traditional style RPG’s mouse click control method. This is a Role-Playing Game (RPG), but with all the fun and action of a First Person Shooter (FPS). Since the background of ACE Online is based in a spacious 3D atmosphere, players need to be aware that an enemy missile can strike at any time and from any direction. "

Character Development

Ace Online is a largely Player vs. Player (PvP)-oriented game, with character leveling and item acquisition achieved through combat against Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and the completion of missions. As a player gains levels, more and more maps become accessible. Although a high level character will have better character attributes than most other players, no one at any level is invincible against other players in PvP.

ACE Online has something called a leader system, The leader, often referred to as the "President", is the person who exercises the right of policy, manages the economic side of the nation and serves as the Commander in Chief of the military. If one becomes a nation leader, they will receive strong authority, economic help and a chance to communicate with the other leader 1 on 1 to settle differences. They are responsible for all conflicts as well.

Social/Class/Guild Structure

In ACE Online there is a formation system similar to a regular party in any RPG. A maximum of 6 players can fly any formation (triangle, reverse triangle, X form and so on). The formation leader stays in the middle to move around and fight. Skills that generate from each formation are all different, depending on who participates in the formation. A much stronger formation can be achieved if members of the group work in perfect harmony. Additionally, there is another formation system similar to a guild in any RPG, which is known as a Brigade There can be up to 40 people within the brigade, with the leader in the middle. By registering their own brigade mark, they can be identified from the other users.

Combat/Skills

Almost all of the combat in Ace Online is aerial, from the third-person view, although players do have the option to use the in-cockpit, first-person view. This View is rarely used though as apparently it restricts vision of the pilot, by cutting down on his/hers peripheral vision as well as increasing difficulty in manuevering the gear.

Quests

ACE Online missions are similar to quests in any RPG. As it is a flight shooting game, there exist various intergalactic quests in large quantities to keep players entertained. When a mission is accomplished, gamers will move through the storyline and receive items and rewards as compensation.

PvP

One of the main aspects of ACE Online would be the epic battles between players (PvP). These can be fought through local wars such as 1 on 1 battles, formation battles and brigade battles. It is also possible to fight with strategy and tactics where one force battles against the other in a large-scale conflict within the server. Three dimensional battles that take place in the air and on the ground prove to be an intense experience. As a result of these battles, your nation profits.

Nation Wars revolve around a point system: "National Contribution Points" (NCP). Every time an enemy gear is shot down, the shooter's nation gains 1 NCP.

Two factions (BCU and ANI) are separated by a series of airspaces (maps). Nation Wars involve a constant battle between the two factions to raid and defend these airspaces. A successful raid gaining airspace over the opposing force provides strategic and economical advantages. For example, the boss "Pathos" only spawns in the BCU map "Zaylope Beach"; whoever controls "Zaylope Beach" would have the chance to destroy it and receive its rare drops if "Pathos" should spawn. Battling over these airspaces often results in tens to thousands of NCPs gained for neither or both nations, speeding up the spawning of motherships. A map being held by a large enemy force means restricted access for lower level players, meaning they can not access and level up in that specific map.

Strategic Points are spawned in a random map at random times, and it will despawn one hour after its spawn if not destroyed completely. War Points- Players can gain War Points from attacking/defending Mother Ships, and Strategic Points. War Points are a new in-game currency that allows players to buy unique items from the recently added Point Shop. These points can be used to buy stronger adhesives, new armors, and other bonuses.

Players can challenge other players in an 1 on 1 duel, or a formation battle (up to 6 players per formation). A 1 on 1 duel can be initiated by challenging another player and that player accepeting the challenge, and vice versa. In a 1 on 1 duel, the two participants receive a 5 second warning, after which there is an unlimited amount of time to kill the other player; should one of the players die under any circumstance (being shot down by the other player in the duel, crashing into terrain objects, being killed by a member of the opposing nation, or being killed by a hostile NPC) then the surviving player is declared the winner. Wins and losses are logged on a player's info for 1 on 1 duels.

A formation battle can be initiated by the command /formfight [formation leader]. A formation battle can only start if all members of both formations are in the same map, logged on, and the formation leader accepting the challenge (it does not ask permission from formation members). Once a formation battle request is sent, no new players may be invited to the formation; existing formation members cannot be kicked; and the formation may not disband. A formation battle is won when all members of the opposing formation have been eliminated under any circumstance. When one member of a formation dies while the rest are still alive, he/she cannot re-spawn until the formation battle ends in either win or loss. Wins and losses for formation battles are not logged on a player's info.

Lore

There were those who tried to interchange between the Deca Union and Vatallus. Although they are called rebels by the government, their goals and beliefs slowly became clear during the occupation of Redline and Starlite Valley. But rebel troops had a fatal disadvantage due to insufficient resources. Their technology was derived from Decas minerals. They weren't used to obtaining information about Phillons minerals. Therefore, there were few resources to use for technology purposes. The city that was built by the Decans in other eastern areas suffered the same fate as the rebels. So they decided to implement a re-fulfillment of the Atum project. However, this project disappeared due to war and conflict and was never to be seen again. All they had was fragmented knowledge discovered through advisors that worked on the project.

Men who joined the Atum project didn't come forward straight away due to possible repercussions. As a result and with depleting resources, the re-fulfillment of the Atum project was abandoned. However, the project continued to progress secretly. One special technician, the one who had taken charge of the Atum project, decided to join the rebel forces. From this merge, Arlington City concluded a secret agreement with the rebel forces and they supported their secret experiments. Therefore, the Atum project will be developed again with an increased desire for resources. It is these resources that are in demand and will ultimately spark the prelude to war.
