Dev's Comments
"Aion delivers a new level of graphical detail and world interactivity. Climb sheer cliffs, fly through moving clouds, see water ripple from the downdraft of your own powerful wings and leap gaping chasms. A supremely powerful graphical engine brings the world of your fantasies to life like never before."
Character Development
There are four initial classes to choose from; Warrior, Scout, Mage and Priest. Once level 10 is reached, each class can specialise further. The class structure in Aion is created primarily with the purpose of letting a player get to know the game and the general features of his character before having to commit to a more specific path.
Social/Class/Guild Structure
There are 2 player factions in the game, Elyos and Asmodian each seperated by zone from the other. They come up against each other in PvP combat in the area seperating the 2. The third faction is formed on NPC's.
Combat/Skills
The combat system utilises combos, skill chains, counter attacks and arial combat.
Crafting Professions
The advanced crafting system allows for detailed item customisation.

PvP
Aion brings PvE and PvP
together in an evolving and seamless system. PvPvE manages the complex relationships and alliances between realms, races and guilds; it also controls the mighty Dragons, a non-player faction and a common enemy to all players, regardless of faction.
Lore
The history of Atreia.
Read the history of this once peaceful planet and you will find a story littered with tragedy and death. Many centuries ago, the Asmodians of upper Atreia and the Elyos of lower Atreia were one people. There was neither divide nor difference between them; indeed they embraced each other as brothers. Now they are each burdened with an unrelenting and deep-rooted hatred of the other, and meet with drawn swords instead of open arms.
The events that caused this division have been transcribed below by each side, and though there are common truths in both stories, it has become apparent that both also feature mistaken beliefs and clouded waters. These misconceptions soon became folklore, then historical fact, as each side looked for someone to blame for the Epic Cataclysm which ripped their world asunder.
