My first character was a fire mage in Korean server, and I personally think fire mage has its unique advantages that other mages don't have.. Many people here seem like they don't want to be a fire mage but let me tell you this... Fire mages can party with warriors, and they get along really well together! I will tell you why fire mage can party with warriors and do better job than other two mages.. and why we need warriors to fight with us....
1) Lightening mages can't go well with warriors because they usually make higher demages than warriors can when they party together. Mobs mostly attack the one that does the highest demages on them, and soon lightening mages will be the first victim that falls into all those mobs attacking while other warriors in your party don't get any hit.. Mages usually can't stand against more then two mobs attacking at same time because we are not virtually a "tanker!" Lightening mages are usually for playing solo-type or should party with other lightening mages.. But what can I say?? you have to party with warriors if you wanna kill skeletons or "betrayer soldiers" (they are lvl 60+) later on... We will need a warrior to sacrifice his HP for us definitely... Now if you are a ligtening mage and wanna party up with warriors.. be an healer and it will be super!
2) Ice mages seem to do better job than lightening mages when they party with warriors... Their attacking demage is not high enough to get all the mobs attention and you won't get killed easily, perhaps... the demage is rather too weak.. Slowing down the mob won't really help warriors because warriors are not long-ranged attackers.. They have to confront the mobs face to face in order to kill and slowing down will only make the hunting slower then what it should be... uh.. yes.. ice magic is really usefull if you are killing mobs alone... It will make the hunting easy and comfortable for you if you learn ice magic and know how to use them.. however that can be like disadvantages for warriors when you party, and as i have mentioned above.... We will eventually need warriors by our side to kill high lvl monsters.. -.-;; I think being an ice mage is really super if you wanna kill.. like.. doggebi or troops though...~~
3) Now fire mage! Fire mages have very reasonable attack power that will go well with warriors attacking demages.. Fire mages make about the same demages warriors can make, but mostly warriors will make higher demages so they will be the one that gets mobs hit... but they are virtually tankers so it will be alright for them to get couple hits from mobs.... it only tickles them lol..
Fire mage also have reasonable attack range to bring mobs to warriors very quick! It is just about right range to get mobs attention and not bringing whole mobs over here... and Mana Consumming is really good too.. You won't slow down your party members because you are low on mana..
And moreover, fire mage usually can have extra skill points b/c fire magic doesn't require as many skill points as those other two... What can we do with this extra skill points??? We spend on Cure! We won't be able to heal as good as healer, but it still helps a lot to warriors! Yes, they will have to use some pots but hunting will be much faster! You do two things, magic attack and heal!
Now what's the down-side of being a fire mage??? Fire mage attacks too slow... Killing mobs as a solo is kind of boring for fire mages definitely.. but you won't regret being a fire mage once you become high lvl... You will be welcomed by warriors and make a lot of friends~~ killing skeletons and higher mobs freely
