Okay, hello and Welcome!

a few front notes:
1. i am a sloppy typer
2. i dont use propper grammer, or am a perfect speller
3. i dont have formal "guide" building skills.

now if any of these bother you in any way, pleae, feel free to NOT read.
thank you.

on with the guide!

The Crafting Guide v1!

Okay, "Crafting is not something a stupid man should start."
this quote i heard from someone in my days as a Runescape,
in many way i agree, but in others, i dont.
bascily put, if you dont know how to trade or make deals or bargans, crafting might now be for you, simple cause you need to get the items for it, and that isnt (sometimes) easy thing to do.

but, i'm here to help all and hope i help the currtent vets of crafting in ROSE see my truth and agree.

now, you just poped in the middle of some island, lvl 1, all 15(or 10) stats.

here is were you choose what you want to become, not later, not in the future when you know more about the game, no, NOW is the time.

if you want to become a crafter, go full CON and SEN, why?
simple.

cause CON gives you more gun damage and SEN add to crit rate.
"what's that got to do with crafting?"
how can you craft if you cant even lvl to gain the many needed skills to craft?
mmhmm right.

now, for the first time in a game i've played, the makers were smart!
cause they made CON ans SEN not only needed for the MAIN weapon of crafters, but also.. also.. your MAIN stats for crafting! yes yes it's true!
CON adds to your success rate, and SEN adds to your quality lvl of the item made.

high con= better odds of makeing
high sen= better item made.

If you are going to be a borgeous.

well, sadly, i'm not sure what stat to train, still depends on what weapon you are going to use i guess.
if it's a launcher, i'd go STR and CON
if gun, well, CON and SEN.
but i hear it's wise to go a bit of dex when going into borgeous, but i'm not sure.
all i know, is they are the "real" traders, they get discounts and sell bonuses. might be a good idea if your in need of money.
all i know from them is what i read. witch isnt much. but, i do hear they are are good with cash, but, i also hear cause of the high prices of items, it's not easy getting that cash hehe but that's for all classes.

let me give you a quick tip.

when crafting an item, the outcome is.. sadly,.. RANDOM!!! weeee as in you'll nvr ever in a 1/1million odds get the same quality weapon 2 times in a row, i havent tested fully, but, it seems that way so far (as in i might be wrong).
this can be good, and it can be bad,
reason that is, is cause you can get a better weapon, but also, also, a worse weapon (big big mad face)
lets say you put in some stuff, and make it, yay, you got a weapon, but, that weapon is worse then the weapon you got now, how mad are you going to be? heh yea

okay, for those who are new to crafting, i cant tell you what to sell and what to keep (junk wise)

it's more of what you are planning to make.

i am going to give you all an example of what you'de need, but, also a bunch of tips.

now, alos of the stuff you can buy in stores, but, as far as i know, alot of items are.. well. diffrent, you cant jsut say "all weapons need metal" but that's not true, some need wood.

but, that's enuf of that.

here more explaining.

okay. when you finaly get yourself the basic crafting skill, you'll notice you havent the option to open a new window and "craft" things, thats cause you need to buy the skill, of what you want to make, lets pick magic weapons!
i have to buy the crafting skill, then buy sub-weapon mastery skill, then magic weapon skill, that's 3 skills jsut to be able to make Basic magic weapons,
at low lvl it's not that bad, and once you got the skill, you can choose to stay with it, lvl it to it's max, but, i have a HINT for you: at time it will need a lvl req to lvl the skill up, like you have to be lvl 35 to lvl the skill to lvl 4.

anyway, once you got youself sub-weapon mastery, you can start making "things" like:
shields, a bag, and back armor.
now if you have the window open, or your jsut wondering what it's about,
all i can say is you have to see it to belive it.
cause i've had 5 friends compleatly confused of what i was saying to them about it.

first you choose what type of item, shield bad or back armor: we choose shield.
then we choose the type of shield: we choose the famos buckler!
now, if you havent noticed,(if you dont have the window open)
that the items change, you now need:
metal:12
thin leather:6
and hard insect skin:3

i'd like to explain something odd about crafting, every "type" of items needs the same thing, 1 thing, example:
staffs/rods needs rusty iron.
shield need hard insect skin
now, i'm no high lvl, but, i'd say thats usefull if your planning on taking it as a profession, knowing what ITEMS you need to keep and what not to keep.
now, here is were i'm confused.
if i need hard insect skin for shields, that means i have to train/hunt beetles, what happends when i'm lvl 40? and i need them? buy form players? i guess.
but what about staffs? oh they need rusty iron, hey i can buy that in shops! woot!
easier for me to make high lvl staffs then high lvl shields. but, here's the draw back.
all itmes have 3 needs (some 4)

a chance of making the item, item.
a monster droped only item
and a store sold item.
the chance of making the item ,item, is seen by the diffrent type of wood or metal or leather. the higher the price equels the higher the odds of successfully making the item, these are also dropped by monsters, and you know what item it is, cause it's always the first one of the list.

the "monster droped item" is the tricky one.
cause the item drops are not 100% random, certain monsters drop certain things.

so if i need hard leather skin, and i'm lvl 50, i have to hire someone to iether hunt them, or buy them from other playters.

the store sold item is fun, cause, they cvan be droped by monsters, and sold in stores. depending on who ya get it from, it can be MUCH cheaper then buying in the shops, and *the cheaper i buy, the cheaper the weapon*, simply put.
(being greedy is bad bad bad)

now, lets say you had all the items you need, to put em in the crafting box, you need to drag them, it dosent matter how many ya drop, it'l drop it down to the amount needed and put the rest abck in your inventory.

once all the items are in, and the item selected, you can see on the bottum the "success" rate, the higher the better, you can change this by adding more SEN or better "chance" items (wood metal or leather)

now, when your done, hit "START" and it's start the crafting.
as you watch the greed/red lines move, you'll see the red pointers, these are showing you the "needed" quality of success, if the green bar stops befor it, "no joy" and it's busted, all the items lthat were not used are returned, all the items that were used, are gone forever.

but, if your lucky you'll have a item made, and in your inventory, feel free to check it out, it could have specual abilities or even be slotted.

now that was my small guide (hah! yea right) on crafting, i know alot of high lvls that will bash me for this, but i dont care, it's the thought that counts, i tried to help.

now, i know some newbies will be like "what about skills?" well, that's up to you! what do yuo want to make first? what do you need? all them and more.

so, go out and craft!

oh and another tip, dont craft till your lvl 35, tongue.gif

once you get to lvl 30, you'll know what i mean.

anyway, cya and good luck.,
