I don't see a leveling guide in this forum, so I might as well write one. I'm so bored right now.
Leveling - Starting Out
You start out on a small island full of newbies. First, talk to the fairy and get the quest. She has three quests: little jelly beans, choropies, and then more choropies. Do them all, and only kill the monsters that the quest requires. That way, you can leave the area as low-level as possible. (You can get many fruits from the fisherman on Adventure Plain at each level until level 8, so leaving the newbie area as soon as possible would maximize the number of free fruits.)
From level 1-10, kill the following monsters (listed by difficulty): little jelly bean, jelly bean, little choropy, choropy, jelly nut, mother choropy, royal jelly bean, red jelly bean, pumpkin, ... etc.
Use common sense when fighting monsters. Their names are color coded. Green monsters are easy. Yellow monsters are usually good to fight. Orange ones are harder. Red ones are almost impossible for a low-level character.
At level 10, go change jobs. Refer to some other guide in this section for details on that.
Leveling - Higher levels
From level 10 to 20, I like killing needle formics, formics, red formics, and formic soldiers, all kinda of pumpkins. I find that needle formics and formics are quite fast.
From level 20 to 30, Dalpings (all types) and Beetle Bugs are very good. Move onto Lekis in the desert as those get slow. Then start killing aquas at Lake of Anima when you are in the high 20s.
Keep killing aquas or libertine folkies until sometime in your mid 30s and start killing some moldys and grunters. Then you can try to head onto Goblin Cave or something when you are past level 40.
Leveling Tips
A common fallacy holds that monsters that give more exp are always better to kill for fast leveling. That is NOT true. You want to kill monsters that give the most experience per minute. For example, I can kill Monster A in 7 seconds and it gives 200 exp. Monster B takes 15 seconds to kill and gives 300 exp. Monster A would yield faster experience. A lot of times in ROSE stronger monsters will only give you 25% more exp or so, and they will take much longer to kill, so it makes more sense to weaker monsters that die very fast and give decent exp.
Ranged enemies are usually the best ones to fight. They give more exp than their melee counterparts, and they die faster too.
Never stop killing. Never. The time you spend sitting down, running around, or doing nothing is wasted. If you want to level fast, always be attacking. If you are a melee character, attack the nearest monster (even if it gets less exp) than a monster that's far away. If you are a ranged character, simply keep clicking monsters. Oftentimes it is a good idea to click another monster during the animation of your finishing hit. That way, you will start attacking the next monster right away without delay.
Leveling costs money, especially for melee characters or muses. Sitting can regenerate HP/MP, but it is a waste of time. Instead, buy a lot of fruits, milk, and potions. Use them whenever you have lost almost enough HP/MP for the potion to have full effect on you. (You have a 240HP potion. Use it when you have lost more than 220HP since you might get hit in the next second or two, and it would regenerate the lost HP from the hit.)
Partying seems pretty useless at low levels. It is much faster to level alone, unless you desperately need a human to talk to, or if your character cannot solo easily. Soldiers, hawkers, and dealers solo efficiently. Muses (especially the support ones) have a harder time until they get decent spells.
That's it for now...
