Alright, this is my first FAQ, and I doubt it will go smoothly. There are some stats that I still cannot understand so any feedback is appreciated. Now that the game is going to be reset I had a little fun and tried the different stats. Anyone new should pay attention so you won't be surprised.
According to the game this is what each stat is supposed to do:
Strength: Increased MAX HP, Attack Power, Defence Power, Carrying Ability.
Dexterity: Increases Dodge Rate, Attack Speed, Moving Speed, and Attack Power with special Battler Weapons and Bows.
Intelligence: Increases Max MP, Attack Power with Rods, Magical Defence.
Concentration: Increases HIT Rate, Attack Power with Guns, Attack Power with Launchers and HP/MP regeneration rate.
Charisma: Is supposed to play a part in drop rate and quest rewards.
Sensibility: Increases Critical Hit, increases Skill Damage, and quality of Crafted Items.
However, do not be fooled. According to my research...:
1. By adding 1 point for every stat WILL NOT ALWAYS increase the stats it should. It may sometimes increase all of those, or just some, or perhaps none at all. (This did happen to me while putting points on DEX, very rarely.)
2. Because of Point 1, this leads me to conclude that it is not based on percentage, or at least not like Ragnarok Online. (EX. LUK increased crit rate by .33%) This is not the case and I cannot find an exact amount, because 1 point will not always increase all said stats. (EX. By adding 25 points of strength, there were periods of 1 ATK, then 1 DEF, then some HP, then both 1 ATK and DEF.)
3. There is no definite cycle as to how the stats are raised. I logged points for STR, and there were frequent periods when ATK or DEF was raised.
4. DEX WILL NOT increase ASPD. Unequipped, DEX raised ATK, AVO, and MSPD at different rates; again there was no definite cycle. However if I remember correctly, MSPD was always increased, I doubt it but can't remember. ASPD seems to be fixed at 115 without weapons. It decreases when a weapon is equipped and even more if shields are equipped. "Normal" speed weapons are indeed the slowest I ever seen. Any (permanent) way to fix this is beyond me. Certain gloves and skills can increase it, however skills are temporary and gloves don't do squat. Perhaps high level players could shed a tip or 2.
5. The Katar and Dual Wield formula MAY BE (keep reading) incorrect since DEX raises attack power anyway. I equipped a Bow with pure str, then a Bow with pure dex, and got similar results (about -/+ 6 ATK). It would seem that STR and DEX have an effect on damage even if you are not using the right class of weapons. The rates are different but DEX and STR raise attack power indefinitely. (I say the formula is incorrect is because my pure dex bow hawker with a katar deals a moderate amount of damage even without the Combat Mastery. However I am sure there is some math because you need a certain amount of DEX to use Battler Weapons anyway. )
EDIT: I am sure there is a formula to class weapons. I do not know what it is however Battler Weapons and Rods get more ATK with DEX and INT respectively.
6. As to how Charisma works I can't figure out. By word of mouth I hear that you do get better items from quests, however I personally find this stat useless and should be left alone.
7. As to how SEN works is also tricky. With katars, there is an ESTIMATED Crit/2 formula, and without katars... it's hard to guess (unless you are good at math). SEN is supposed to increase quality of Crafted Items, however I don't know any Artisans, nor ever made one so if anyone knows PM me in Forums.
8. CON does not raise HIT rate so generously as it should. By level 30 (yes that does sound a bit low) even 50 CON and a Crown I still missed Aquas (Yellow) about 1/3 of the time. Hawker Spirit is such a great skill to have since level 1 increases HIT by 35 points, and much more in later levels. Although having some CON is unavoidable since even Hawker Spirit will max out and enemies only get stronger. However HIT rate dose not increase in a cycle of any kind and is hard to predict how much HIT you can gain. (At least by my experiences.)
9. Intelligence I have yet to touch upon, however to those few who are actually of the Muse class I have no doubt you would raise this stat solely. With the reset I don't expect to see any future Clerics or Muses for that matter, since Wings and such will be out of stock. Perhaps there will be Battle Muses but they rely mostly on DEX anyway.
If there is anything you want me to add/fix/remove PM me in the Forums or e_mail me at fury_7777@hotmail.com. I did this by myself and the 2 weeks I played on ROSE. It is a fun and addictive game and I can only hope to prevent people who might mess up their first character after the wipe.
