Yes I know there are several guides here about 'em but here's my take on it

Ok I know you've heard this about a million times, but here's my take on building a good solo muse character.

First thing is first you gotta know what the stats do (if you do already then skip this part, otherwise, read on.)

STR
Affects HP Atk and Def and it also affects somewhat (although very little) your magical defenses

DEX
Affects your dodge rate, and your moving speed, and it also affects to some extent how fast you recover

INT
Usually a muse's main stat, it affects magical attack (how hard the spells hit) and magical defense, it also majorly affects MP too.

CHA
You'd be a jackass to put anything in this stat even if you're a dealer (Economy Research gives it to ya anyway so what's the point in investing?) Basically the difficulty meter in the game, the more you have, the more you'll get mobbed, 'nuff said.

CON
Affects your hitting rate and when you're resting how fast your recover.

SEN
This affects your criticals, and to some extent (for artisans) crafting.

I. Building

Ok there is no easy way to explain this part as there are about millions of builds for a muse, but as for me I chose dex. (Other people like STR because of 2-handed swords, but that's your choice.)

Dex is usually the MOST common build, if you walk to any character with bows, katars, and double weapons, there's a 50:50 chance it could be a dex muse.

First off, as soon as you hit your 1st level up pump dex, it will help you greatly especially in higher levels, and since you will be getting defense up buffs later, you could be a tanker, and because your equips as a muse give you a big boost, it's even better for you.
One tip I do give you is, if you're building with dex, make sure to put Int every 10 dex points, or start building on Int when you hit 100 Dex, as Int does affect buffs.

II. Skills

DOs:
Meditation With:
Cure
Blessing
Support

These skills are Important because they are the ROOT skills you need to get everything else, you don't have to max them out right away, I do suggest you get meditation maxed before you level them as it does give you MP (which you will lack until you get Intelligence) as a muse you will only be able to get the following build:

Spell Mastery 10 --
Meditation 10 --
Cure 5
Healing 5
Blessing 5
Enchanted Armor 4
Blessed Mind 2
Support 5
Hit Support 3
Power Support 5

This is the most common spell build, there are other variations, but I won't get into them, and note the spell mastery, since you won't have as much MP as Intelligence clerics this will greatly help since it can reduce the costs of your spells

Optional Spells:
Fire Ring
Wind Storm
Weaken

I know, I know only mages can get them to full power BUT, they can make good substitutes for certain Items, Windstorm can be maxed out to 5 at level 70 and Fire Ring can hit 5 (when it becomes Fire Burn the Defense Drop will be low as hell) Windstorm can serve as a good substitution for a charm (However if you plan to be PURE dex I DO NOT recommend it) and Fire Ring can drop an enemy's defenses (which helps you hit with more damage.) And weaken helps when your Armor spell is in effect, because lower attack is always a plus in addition to lowered defenses.

DONTS:
Mana Bolt
Ice Bolt and MOST offensive spells

You won't be able to get them to their fullest anyway, and because you have lower intelligence they won't hit as hard, so save yourself the trouble and don't get them.

Summons:

I DO recommend you get Summon Mastery, but don't rush it, you won't get your best Summon until level 70 so why even bother? Wait it out until level 70. Oh and don't forget to max out your meditation and get your other skills when you get your 2nd job tongue.gif.

Also forgot to mention one thing: Since you have a lot of dex, you will be casting INSANELY fast, so you will not die as often as the Intelligence-build clerics.

III. Leveling

Since you're a dex muse, assuming it's what your are, you will cast, recover, and move faster than a normal muse. However, your MP and buffing will be lower. Noobies might mistake you for a hawker, but it's unavoidable so bear with it, you will still need parties just like a normal cleric, however a plus side is you don't have to since, not only do you have a defense spell, you will have access to every single buff, Leveling should be the easiest thing to do, just fight like a normal muse, it will be no sweat for you.

IV. Building (Part II)

Ok, so you've hit your 30's, give yourself a pat on the back, level 29 was tedious, but you made it. You should continue leveling like normal, but here's where the similarity in building stops completely, at this point you can do what you want with your stats, you could go the defensive way, and add some STR, or you could go the way of the hit add some CON, or maybe you like seeing an assload of misses on your head and continue with dex, HOWEVER, my recommendation at this point is to stop when you hit 100+ dex (Usually 100-115 is good) At this point you won't need dex anymore, since you will be able to use most of the katars, and bows, and ALL of the double weapons up to level 73. Usually level 35-40 is a good time to start building on Intelligence, because remember what I said earlier? Your buffs need it. You may be thinking, "why stop, won't the monsters start hitting you eventually?" You're right eventually they will, but that won't happen for a long time (Not until you get to Luna smile.gif) On Junon Hawkers will find that they will have some trouble, since they will need to heal more often than you, because you're pure dex, if you wanna play it safe though, get yourself an avoidance set

You might need some con, but what's the point since you have Hit support (which is more powerful than Hawker Spirit level 8 and 9 at level 4). If you're using Katars, don't worry about Con, put a little Sens, if you want to use double weapons then put a little con, because Hit support might not be enough. Now as for Int, from your level now, until level 70 YOU NEED to focus on this stat hugely since it will affect the bonuses your buffs will give, don't worry if you don't like the Int you have, since Int and Dex are supposed to be balanced out. By the time you hit level 70 you should have a 1:1 ratio 100 Int and 100 Dex (don't worry if Int is more you're a muse you need Int either way), growing into level 70+ you should
continue increasing this stat until you hit around 200 Int, once you hit 200 add about 50 dex to 150, trust me it will help out a lot.
If you build it decently you will find that a muse with this style will rock in PVP since most of the classes will be missing a lot, and if big bad soldiers try to hit you with a leap attack, they will find a big surprise when they hit.

V. Equips

I can't say much about this area of making a muse of this style, just use your normal equips, your best bet fighting is to use Katars, a lot of people say dex muses suck because of the fact that buffing isn't very strong, but trust me, their jaws will drop when you build it correctly. If you do build it correctly, people will die to have you in their clan, because of your moving speed and avoidance, and invulnerability to magic.

Remember this guide is for DEX MUSES, if you wanna try it with another build, go ahead. And also: since hawkers have several stats to spread out to, you will generally have more dex than they do at a lower level, and buffing, so you will have an easy time soloing.
