How to be an all-around Muse that doesn't DIE as much *uses staff*
Levels 0-40
My first guide
If you do your Muse my way, you should be able to solo, party, heal, buff, and not die so dang easy.
**********************************
For those of you who aren't sure that this is the build for you, here are my current stats:
IGN: WildAngel
LVL: 43
Character Stats:
STR 57
DEX 26
INT 103
CON 21
CHA 21
SEN 11
Skills:
Mana Bolt - lvl 7 (hits over 200+dmg on hard monsters, and have seen up to 500+dmg!!! has a lot to do with Staff Mastery)
Staff Mastery - lvl 10 (gives me atk pwr +35 but INCLUDES atkpwr on SKILLS not just weapon

)
Heal - lvl 5
Revive
Blessed Mind - lvl 4
Sharpen Support - lvl 4
Resiliance - lvl 2
Meditation - lvl 3
**********************************
*I am not incorporating the Episode Quest ~ there are many guides for that. Just try to coordinate that quest with your muse quests.*
All around hints:
~ save your etc don't sell unless you really need to or to buy food it will add up in the long run
Leveling
~ run run run those price lists! keep your save point at AP so when you die around Zant, you can run one back, then just keep going back and forth ~ it's worth it!
~ fight monsters that are worthwhile. once you get above Moldies, you'll see what I mean, but I'm saying its better to kill one that takes 4 hits and gives 200exp than kill one that takes 10 hits 2 food 1 heal and gives 500exp - get the picture?
Gear/Equip
~ uhh durr STAFF

is your best and only weapon
~ get the clothes/armor that have BEST stats ~ even if it isn't "muse" gear

YOUR SKILLS
Here's what your skills should look like for this build in order of importance by lvl 40:
1. Mana Bolt - max every chance you get (maxed = lvl 5 until you hit lvl40 - MAX ASAP)
2. Staff Mastery - max every chance you get (maxed = lvl 10 - MAX ASAP)
3. Heal - gauge your HP and level this accordingly (maxed = lvl 5 until you hit lvl40) food does wonders
4. Revive - people love you for this, will sometimes pay you, and will make good friends if you have it. There is not leveling on this so it's done once you learn it.
5. Blessed Mind - try to get to lvl 3 or so if not more ~ people who party with you will love you for it.
6. Sharpen Support - try to get to lvl 4+ ~ again people who party with you will love you for it.
AFTER LVL 40+ (up to you but just my idea)
7. Resiliance - this is a gateway skill and will increase your DEF as well as your HP (if later you choose to do Mind-Body link to make skills take less MP you'll need this anyway)
8. Meditation - will recover your MP faster, as well as increase your MP total. Later, when you're strong and solo a lot like I do, you might start on this one so that you can sit, recover quick, and not use as much food/fight more. Don't bother with this early on, because you should be strong enough to not have to be FS in a party, so won't use Heal too much, therefore MP doesn't drop so quick.
YOUR STATS
Here's how to build your stats to be a STR/INT muse ~ and stop dying so dang much!
1. INT ~ this DUH makes your skills better, powerful, and your attack. Since this build uses a staff, and you should have staff mastery, it will increase your staff attack dmg also.
2. STR ~ this will give you more HP, more DEF, better attk str, etc etc blah blah.
WHERE TO PUT STATS
Your STR should be at least 1/2 of your INT. If you kept your STR and didn't reset (see guide below) then focus on everything INT until it gets up to 2x the STR. Vice versa ~ if you reset your stats and poured all into INT, keep that STR just at least 1/2 of your INT level.
Ex: if your INT is 57, your STR should be around 25-30
For another example - see my stats above.
You can't go wrong with more STR, but we're muses, so we want INT
MY IDEA ON HOW TO GET TO LVL 40
LVL 1-5
1. Talk to fairy, get all your exp and items/food. (remember talk about every topic with her)
2. Do her quests:
kill (#?) mini jelly beans
kill (#?) mini choopies
kill (#?) choropies or mini choropies in 10 min
3. Hang out on Birth Island. Try to get to lvl 5 before you go to Adventure Plains (AP) ~ it seems that BI gives good drops if you stick with it.
4. Put ALL of your stats into Strength (Str) this will keep you from dying, give more HP, and kill quicker = level quicker.
LVL 5-10
1. Talk to Myad ~ from level 1 until 8 he will give you different food to help you out. Free food? Why not?
2. Talk to Grey ~ agree to collect all of the materials so that no matter what you hunt in AP you will eventually get some Z$$ for them.
2. Do all the quests as they pop up. These should be:
kill 10 Choropies
kill 10 Flanaes
kill 10 Pumpkins *note* before you head towards Luxom or Zant, talk to the Gray guy and get his pearls for Francis in Zant ~ will make things easier
3. Remember ~ try to put all of your stats in STR ~ your job is to LEVEL and not die
4. Don't buy equip until you are at least lvl 10 and have your job ~ if you put those stats in STR you shouldn't be having too much of a problem with defense and you ALWAYS pick up equip right after you buy LOL
LVL 10-14
*note this says 14 remember that*
1. Go to Zant, talk to Warren, get your Muse quest. (don't forget to stop by Francis to drop off pearls and talk to Ulysses to start running lists back and forth)
2. HERES THE KICKER ~ remember me telling you to put all of your stats in STR? You now (at lvl 14 or LOWER) have 2 options. Either reset all of your stats and put into INT ~ OR ~ leave em there in STR. Either way, it won't matter. You'll get to the same end but some people freak out if they have no INT when they get their skills :S if you do my guide you'll end up ok either way.
3. AFTER you get your job, if you haven't already found good enough equip, go ahead and buy your outfit *NOTE* don't only buy muse stuff. Check the "common" clothing and compare the stats on it ~ THATS what matters - the clothing stats vs your level. You might be able to get a better set of common clothes than the muse equip. Also, if you saved your drops, and didn't die much, you should have a little bit of zulie to get some cheapy statted outfit ~ even blue if you're lucky. Point being: with a STR/INT build, you shouldn't be running from EVERYTHING yet.
4. Get a STAFF ~ most of your strength attack-wise will come from Staff Mastery and your Staff.
5. You automatically get some skills when you finish job quest, DONT use them all!
Here's what your skills should look like for this build in order of importance
1. Mana Bolt - max every chance you get (maxed = lvl 5 until you hit lvl40)
2. Staff Mastery - max every chance you get (maxed = lvl 10)
3. Heal - gauge your HP and level this accordingly (maxed = lvl 5 until you hit lvl40) food does wonders
LVL 15-20
1. Do your back and forth quests, remember to run those price lists, and get FREE exp wherever you can.
2. Fight monsters that are worthwhile.
3. Oh yeah, fight, fight, fight, and level, level, level.
LVL 20-40
1. Ok, your stats should be a big # for INT and 1/2 of that # for STR. 2 ways to do this: either split stats each lvl (2 int 1 str) or go back and forth ~ lvl up on INT for a couple lvls then do STR a couple. It's your choice.
2. Who to fight? TURTLES

not many people tell you that, but if you go to a turtle spawn in Anima Lake (there are 2 good ones) they give great and lots of drops, and aren't too hard to kill. They also give great exp for quite a few levels. If you can hold your own against rackies, go do Turtles, they don't mob you as much.
3. Who to fight when you're above Turtles? MOLDIES

you might have to party for a level or two, but the Moldie/Porkie spawn by entrance to FOW is the BEST place to level for a LONG time. Be careful though, they DO mob quite a bit.
This should get you to level 40 in a general kind of way.
